userfit, A practical handbook on user- centred design for Assistive Technology

Author: David Poulson, Martin Ashby, Simon Richardson
Abstract: The emphasis of the USERfit methodology is on the design of products that use advanced technology in some form, and where users will be expected to interact with the product. The focus of USERfit is therefore on the design of products that have significant user interface. The first section is a general introduction to the concept of usability, the following provides a more detailed introduction to the USERfit design philosophy, the next section describes the methodology and the use of its different technniques (e.g. user trials, interviews, questionnaires, discussion groups). Two appendices are included to give practical examples of how to use the methodology in design.
