Abstract:
The paper describes user involvement in design practice in form
of a field study concerning remote controll units.
In order to find out to what extent elderly users, with respect
to their diminishing physical, perceptual and mental abilities,
can handle current remote controll units, a field study has
been carried out into the way remote controls are actually used
by the elderly, and into the use problems that occur.
