FORTUNE Recommendations.

Further comments during negotiation:

Luckily the project has been accepted by a funding agency or the bosses of the funding partners. However, in most cases external reviewers have made some recommendations (reduce the total cost, improve marketing research, exploitation, clarify ownership of results, consider alternative solutions or the use of off the shelf technology, etc.). This is a very difficult task. Sometimes, one might be tempted to cut down the "weakest" partner. Often, the task of user participation is cut down.

With regard to user participation:
  • One should be fair to all partners and bear external pressure as a consortium of partners.
  • Be sure that an uneven reduction of user participation will be harmfull for the project result.
  • A substantial cut of finances always needs a reflection in project results. If the cut is so tremendous, that one must have doubts to be able to reach the project objective, the project might consider not to accept this, maybe to stop negotiations.
